These brothers were born in a small village in Satara district. In order to earn money, family members have travelled to Pune city. Meanwhile, Kailash Katkar's father worked as a machine setter in the Phillips Company, which is why both brothers have been obsessed with machines since childhood. Kailash and Sanjay brother became interested in the complicated tasks of what a machine is, how it is made, how to repair it when the machine is shut down. Later, Kailash left class X and started repairing machines. Kailash started getting Rs 400 a month for repairing calculators and small machines.
The computer is the future… Kailash Katkar says, “I have seen my father used to repair many machines since childhood, and since then I have been obsessed with playing and repairing machines. I used to repair many devices, such as radios, tape recorders, and so on. ”Once more, he went to repair bank calculators. The bank first saw a TV-like device, the employee was working on that machine. When Kailash asked about that machine, he realized that it was a computer. The machine can do the work of ten people alone, and they built a futuristic plan that would be their future. After a few months, Kailash started repairing computers.
A computer is a combination of hardware and software. Kailash had fully engaged himself in hardware repair. In the meantime, he read books about computers. Wherever they get their computer knowledge, they go. Meanwhile, Kailash had made a good save in a few years. With this money, he bought his first computer for Rs 50,000. Many experiments were started on it. Kailash's younger brother, Sanjay, also wanted to make a career in hardware as a father and brother; But Kailash advised them to learn the software with foresight and started developing the software in their computer.
Sanjay says, "I like to keep the computer virus-free. The first thing I did was remove the virus from my computer using DOS system. After that, I wrote a program to remove the virus in my computer while I was studying in college, and then I was able to create the first computer virus-free software. "
After producing anti-virus software, the brothers spent the next few years researching and developing it. While Sanjay focuses on newer versions of anti-virus software, Kailash focuses on how his products will be sold in the market. Meanwhile, Sanjay insists that this anti-virus software should have a Sanskrit name; But Kailash named the Anti-Virus software Quick Heal to make his brand known in the international market. In 1995, the Katkar brothers 'Kat Computer Services' officially launched the Quick Heal Antivirus market. The company achieved great success in a short time, and in 2007 Kailash and Sanjay renamed their company as Quick Hill Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
Quick Heal has not stopped at this point, but in India's small office category, the company has over 30 per cent market share of products. So these companies are hitting international companies like Symantec, Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky. The company's 1,500 skilled employees focus on creating innovative products. Thus, two Marathi brothers have established their company from scratch only on the strength of their intelligence, honesty and hard work and have earned their reputation in the field of anti-virus software. The story of a Marathi brothers will surely be inspiring and a guide for Marathi businessmen.
